MUSIC PRESERVES MOMENTS.
Music is more than sound to me. It can preserve memories, connect people and hold on to moments. A break, a transition or one night on a dancefloor can suddenly return years later within a few bars — the place, the people, the atmosphere, the feeling.
That is why many of my mixes and sets carry a personal layer. Some are memories, some love letters, some musical memorials for people and moments that matter to me — especially when some of those people are no longer here.
You cannot repeat a moment. But sometimes you can bring it back.
VINYL / DJ CRAFT
TWO RECORDS. A THIRD SOUND.
A DJ set is not just a sequence of finished tracks to me. Good records are the raw material — the actual mix happens in between. When two tracks run together, kicks, transients, bass, phase and timing interact. Sometimes they cancel each other. Sometimes two kicks create a punch neither record has on its own.
At 190 BPM one beat lasts roughly 316 milliseconds. Inside that tiny window, a few milliseconds can decide whether two kicks become one bigger impact or fall apart as an audible double hit. That play with micro-timing, phrasing, pitch and bass priority is live sound design with existing material.
Live acts and DJs do different things — and both belong on a line-up. A live act builds music from machines, tracks, samples and sequences. A DJ works with finished recordings, but shapes selection, timing, layering and transition in the moment. Good DJing deserves to be seen as its own art form again — not against live acts, but alongside them.
The perfect mix is clean. The effective mix is alive.

FAG23 stands for Freude am Geräusch — three decades of vinyl mixing, electronic music, freeparty culture and the search for sounds that do not need to behave.
From Technics turntables and Roland machines to more than 200 DJ mixes and over 21,000 minutes of uploaded music, the idea has stayed the same: two tracks should not simply follow each other. For a moment, they should become something new.

VINYL MIXING
The start of vinyl mixing and original music production. Technics, Roland and hands-on work instead of ready-made routines.
NET-RECORDS → OFFLINE RECORDS → DER PFÖRTNER
First came Net-Records as an online record store. Later the shop moved offline as OFFLINE RECORDS. In Wuppertal, DER PFÖRTNER followed: a techno bar at the music centre, built into an old extended gatekeeper office. Music, people and exchange became part of the same freeparty, soundsystem and teknival history.

LAURA SOUNDSYSTEM
LAURA Soundsystem is a tribute to my late wife Laura. Mixes, sets and shared nights carry that memory forward — not as a museum, but as living soundsystem and freeparty culture.
Newer work keeps that personal layer alive too. The Fast Underground Tekno mix “HimMELL” is dedicated to my partner Mell — an expression of love, gratitude and shared time.
